Legal Commentary

This section brings together analysis of the law governing freedom of religion or belief in Malaysia – case law from the civil and Syariah courts, statutes that may sit uneasily against the Federal Constitution, and the international human rights standards Malaysia has committed to or been measured against. It also looks outward, comparing how other jurisdictions approach the same tension between religious freedom and religious authority, and in time will include conversations with institutions engaged on these questions.

This is written from the perspective of a law graduate with first-hand experience of these processes – legal analysis, commentaries and opinions.
